1. Electrostatic spray gun can be used for coating, and the film thickness is suitable to be controlled at 70-90 microns. (MDF substrate needs to be heated and homogenized in an infrared oven in advance and preheated. The specific heating temperature is determined according to the heat capacity of the MDF substrate.) |
| 2. Curing conditions: 140, 5-8 minutes (referring to the surface temperature of the MDF board). The oven can use an ordinary hot air circulation oven or a drying tunnel. If conditions permit, it is best to use an infrared oven to quickly heat and level the newly sprayed coating, and then send it to an ordinary oven for baking and curing. |
Application Field
It can be widely used in surface treatment of modern furniture industry.
Exceptional Surface Protection and FinishOur powder coating for Medium Density Fiberboard combines high-performance protection with a refined visual appeal. The advanced thermosetting formula ensures excellent adhesion and resistance, making MDF panels more durable and suitable for a range of commercial and industrial uses. With options for glossy, matte, or textured finishes in a wide array of colors, you can achieve both protective functionality and customized design aesthetics.
Efficient and Eco-Friendly ApplicationThis powder coating utilizes an electrostatic spray application method for uniform coverage and minimal waste. The curing process, performed at moderate temperatures between 160C and 200C, ensures a strong, reliable bond to MDF surfaces. Eco-conscious and industry-standard compliant, this product maintains low VOC emissions and meets RoHS requirements, making it a sustainable choice for modern manufacturing and finishing needs.
FAQ's of Powder Coating for Medium Density Fiberboard:
Q: How is Powder Coating applied to Medium Density Fiberboard panels?
A: Powder coating for MDF panels is applied using an electrostatic spray process. The powder is sprayed onto the surface of the MDF, which is then heated in a curing oven at temperatures between 160C and 200C. This allows the coating to melt, flow, and form a durable protective film.
Q: What are the key benefits of using this Powder Coating on MDF substrates?
A: The main benefits include superior scratch, impact, and chemical resistance, along with strong adhesion to MDF. Additionally, it provides versatile finish options, enhanced surface durability, and long-lasting color, while maintaining low VOC emissions and RoHS compliance for environmental safety.
Q: When is the best time to use this powder coating for MDF applications?
A: This powder coating is ideal during the final finishing stage of MDF panel production or fabrication. After the panels have been shaped and sanded, but before any hardware or assembly, is the optimal time to apply the coating for best results.
Q: Where should the powder coating be stored to maintain its quality?
A: The product should be stored in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry place. Proper storage extends the shelf life up to 12 months and prevents moisture exposure or contamination, preserving the coating's performance.
Q: What process does the powder undergo during application to achieve a strong finish?
A: After the powder is electrostatically sprayed onto the MDF, it is cured in an oven, where the particles melt and chemically crosslink. This curing process results in a robust, continuous film that adheres strongly to the substrate and offers excellent resistance to mechanical and chemical wear.
Q: What are the recommended usage and coverage rates for this powder coating?
A: For optimal performance, apply the powder to achieve a film thickness between 60-120 m. Coverage is typically 8-10 m2 per kilogram, depending on the exact thickness applied. This ensures effective protection and finish on MDF panels.
Q: What finish types and pack sizes are available for this MDF powder coating?
A: The powder coating comes in a range of finishes including glossy, matte, and textured, and is available in a variety of colors. Pack sizes offered are 25 kg, 50 kg, and 200 kg drums or barrels, catering to different volume requirements.
